The XGEV2460FM NBASE-T Demo Camera features the latest Sony Pregius CMOS global shutter image sensors. These sensors offer such high performance in resolution and frame rate that traditional camera interfaces like GigE, Dual-GigE or even USB 3.0/USB 3.1 Gen1 do not provide sufficient bandwidth.

Thus, Dolotron has developed a fully operational reference design of the new NBASE-T™ Ethernet connectivity standard with 1, 2.5, and 5 Gbps nominal bandwidth. NBASE-T 5G provides an effective bandwidth of 500MB/s of uncompressed image data over a standard Ethernet twisted pair CAT5e cable over up to 100m.

The Sony Pregius CMOS sensors feature unprecedented sensitivity, signal to noise ratio, minimal fixed pattern noise, and high full-well saturation levels for crystal clear images also in low-light and mixed light conditions.

High resolution and high bandwidth connectivity are benefcial for detecting small features in a scene as the increased number of pixels lowers detection errors and false readings. The full frame global shutter allows for very short exposure times and can capture a large number of fast moving objects per second without blur.
